hello hello hello! i want to be the first to say THANKS EVERYONE for making an effort to come down today as a class and have fun as a class. its really gladden-ing to see us all enjoying ourselves together be it through games, camwhorring or EATINGGGGG one last time before the a levels come.

i had a really really great time today, and special thanks to ZHOU TAI, DARYL and TIMO for planning this whole thing out, it wasnt easy to come to a consensus and with the whole crazy weather a beach outing wasnt exactly the most easiest of all outings to plan butttttt it turned out pretty awesome! :D

thanks to the rest of you who did your part by bringing all the sausages, fishcakes, fried rice, JELLY, meat, peanut butter, and all of you who prepared small little presents for the class for graduation!

we found out several things today:
1. out of the top of my mind, the thing that caught me most, was ZOMGGGG MR ANG IS SOME SHUAI GE EHHHHHHH! XD
2. timo can be a really great model.
3. lois' (mum? sorry im not sure :P ) makes really good fried rice.
4. our class is so spoilt we must set our mats on cement rather than sand even though we're at the beach.

anything else to add?

oh yes,
congrats to our class for being the guai gias of this batch, i dont see any other class sweeping the conduct awards as easily as ours man.

Today we had our short class outing after SAJC Student Council Commendation 2008 & it was good in the sense that all of us took the trouble to come! Too bad we missed Diana & Mann - OCIP Prep Camp, ! I won't say 08S19 is VERY very bonded, like how some other classes may have proclaimed their class to be but we're quite an okay class i think... Well, we had fun in our own way or another, & yeah it was great for me la so yeah Good Job DARYL!~

Oh yea! Before I go off and have another long hectic day, just wanna say thanks loads and lots and loads to everyone who came down today to the centre. yea. It's been great fun, and an interesting new experience for me. I thought the giant animal painting was fun! =P
Ms. Fun said she was very happy with our performance, and she was happy that the children were happy. =D
I hope you guys had truck-load of fun, and train-load of new experience. =P
And, also, since it was part of my group's project work, we would like to say thanks to all of you too!
Okay, for the materials that we used, shu fa brush, ink, sushi stuff, giraffe plastic cardboard, glue, marker, each of us need to contribute two dollars. Okay, so when school re-opens, we'll just take that from the class fund? or something?

Class Relay System

Hello S19, we hae decided to come up with a Class Relay System, so that we can spend less money on sms. =P
It was created 'cause some people suggested it to us, and we thought it would be more convenient for us, and us as a class.
Yes, and it helps make sure that everyone gets the message.

The relay system is as such:
1. Person A sends message to CRS group leaders.
2. Message is passed down till the last person in the group.
3. Last person in the group send the message back to the Person A.
4. Start the message with "CRS: blah blah blah... "
5. The groupings are as such :

Hello people!
We need to put our brains together and think of something for the Service Learning Day.
The four main items are: (as I said on the previous post)
1. Giant Painting
2. Revision Time
3. Study Time
4. Surprise

For Giant Painting, we just need to get a large mahjong paper and draw some animal on it.
simple.

For Revision Time, the person i/c wants us to take care of the P5 students for their Chinese enrichment. So we've gotta plan something for Chinese enrichment; Mann Diana and I were thinking we do a chinese idiom word matching(split the idiom into two, them make them match the words), then some shu fa (Chinese traditional writing), and I suggested Chinese hangman. =P
We need more ideas, so please give your input.
Other than Chinese enrichment for P5's, we need to teach the rest other subjects, so just revise your primary school stuffs. o.O

For Study time, it's pretty much the same as revision time. Also make sure that they complete their holiday assignments. Chinese enrichment for p3's

Surprise!! This is the segment where we get to do our very own stuff, sooo... we need to plan it out, make it fun! and have fun! yea! so Any ideas, just shoot.

Summary: need ideas for Chinese enrichment, need ideas for Surprise.
So, , we discuss this during class on friday yea!

Hello S19!
This is Timothy. =)
I have contacted the people at Marymount.
I've talked to Sook Fun at the Good Shepherd Children Centre,
and she has allowed us to go to the centre next Tuesday, 3rd June.

They do not allow us to take care of the children for the day,
so we can only join them in what they have already prepared for the children.
We do not plan to do anything major, but we do need to prepare some small things.
This is what the teachers there have already planned for that day:

0700 - we are open
0700~0800 - indoor play
0800~0830 - breakfast
0830~0900 - care & connect
0900~1000 - outdoor play
1000~1200 - Giant painting
1200~1300 - Shower/Lunch
1300~1345 - revision *Chinese Enrichment for p5 only
1345~1500 - Nap (go outside)
1500~1630 - study time *Chinese Enrichment for p3 only
1630~1730 - Tea break/area cleaning
1730~1830 - Surprise
1830~1900 - Gettting ready to go
1900 - Good bye

We will reach there at 9.00am, in time to join them with outdoor play.
It will probably be hide and seek, or catching. whatever.
It's up to the kids to decide.
The major items we are involved in are:
1. Giant Painting
2. Revision Time
3. Study Time
4. Surprise

1. Giant Painting:
We need to come up with a large life-size animal for the children to paint on.
In other words, a large paper with a picture of an animal,
so that children can paint it or paste magazine on it.

2. Revision Time:
The children need to complete their holiday assignment. (priority)
Those who are good in Chinese could teach the children Chinese.
Mrs. Sook Fun said that only 5 people would be needed to teach the children,
the rest can go do other stuffs. =)

3. Study Time:
Same as revision time. Complete their holiday assignments. Teach stuff.
Teach Chinese. (priority) Only 5 people needed. (most likely)
It's usually one-to-three kinda thing.

4. Surprise:
We can do whatever activity we have planned.
Some sort of mini-competition.
Sports game? Totally up to you guys.

During the nap time, we are not to disturb the kids at all,
so Mrs. Sook Fun suggested that we go outside and drink coffee. =P

Preparation:
1. Large papers with animals drawn on it.
2. Games to play with them.
3. Be ready to them.
4. Be ready to clean up the place maybe. =P

Some general rule: (as specified by Mrs. Sook Fun)
1. No exchange of handphone numbers, email address.
2. No letting of girls sitting on laps of our boys.

Some information about the centre:
1. Usually 70+ children
2. ~40 children during holidays
3. Childrens are from p1 to p6
4. 10~20% are from needy family/ single-parent
5. 5 teachers : 2 relief teacher, 3 full-time teacher.
6. There's a big backyard, 5~6 small classrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 dining room, 2 containers.
7. The children wear home clothes.
8. 95% of the children are girls. =P

Topics: Chapter 1 to 8(Inequalities)

Format: One paper consisting of about 9 questions of different lengths and marks based on the topics tested. You will be expected to answer all questions.

Duration: 2 hours
